Let me explain.....last week, I had to pick Hannah up from daycare and take her back to work with me since I needed to work late. Tony's later hours now don't allow for much flexibility, but since he works just down the street from me, this option now works out well. He comes by and picks her up from my office when he gets off at 6. When I told Hannah that Daddy would be picking her up from my work, she told me that her daddy will take her to get french fries. I asked her what she meant and she proceeded to tell me that her daddy gets a hamburger sandwich and she gets french fries. You see my darling husband is a fast food junkie!! And Hannah SO BUSTED HIM!!! When he pulled in, I asked him to tell me a little about the story that I was told and he just grinned and said he didn't know what I was talking about!
Then the other day at daycare, Val asked me about eating waffles at home. These are Hannah's most favorite thing in the world - she's turning INTO a waffle! Well, Val told me that Hannah told her we have store-bought waffles! Well, we do, but we do make either pancakes or waffles one day per weekend most weekends. Now that I think about it, I think Hannah may have been telling her that we "stir it up" and she thought she was saying "store-bought". You see, that's another one of Hannah's most favorite things to do - help me pour the ingredients into the bowl and stir it up. Now that I thought that one through, I'll have to explain myself!
Val and I were talking about all the things the kids tell her - you wouldn't believe some of the stories!! I now have come to truly realize, we have no more secrets (not that our lives are really THAT exciting anyway!)
Today was relaxing - finally. We made waffles this morning (from scratch) and then Hannah helped me do a little cleaning. We changed her bed and she wanted to do some jumping in it afterwards. I don't usually allow this, but I didn't argue with her today. She was having fun!
And check out her shirt today! Daddy was impressed!
Tony and Hannah played together and watched the OSU game. I finished some cleaning and laundry and then worked on Hannah's quilt. I got quite a bit done. I may finish the blocks this weekend. As I was sewing, Hannah called her daddy down to play music with her. She asked to play her drumsticks and Tony handed them to her. She said, "no, Daddy, you sit on your chair and play the guitar and I'll play my drums" - so they did!
And check out Hannah's fancy shoes she wore during this "concert"!! They are her "glass slippers" because she is pretty sure that she's Cinderella!!
